Every open Club Med we’ve stayed at, ranked

Disagree? Good. Post your own order where you found this, and count yours against the full list of 181 while you are there.See the ledger

A single one-to-fifty-two is the most arguable page we could publish, which is tempting. But Kiroro against Kani is a comparison nobody makes. So: three lists, each ranked. Stays, nights and the year we were last there sit beside each village, because the number of stays says more than any adjective.

The order is ours. It will change; the record won’t.

Ski and mountain

#VillageStaysNightsLast
1Val d’Isère
Four stays and we are not finished with it; the one the others get measured against.
4262023
2Val Thorens Sensations
The highest lift-served snow in the Alps, and the surest week in January.
3212017
3Tignes
Ranked on the skiing rather than the village; the glacier makes the season absurdly long.
172009 · old building; new building to confirm
4La Rosière
South-facing, sunlit, and you can ski across to Italy for lunch.
132022
5Les Arcs Panorama
Ski-in from the door into Paradiski; the newest of the French builds when we went.

Hokkaido snow attached to a resort complex; more Japanese hotel than Club Med.

The quiet Hokkaido option: a small hill, reliable snow, nobody on it.
122018
10Peisey-Vallandry
The gentler way into Les Arcs, in through the trees.
132013
11St. Moritz Roi Soleil
Four stays for the Engadine rather than for the village; the skiing is a ride away.
4222024
12Grand Massif Samoëns Morillon
A big linked area an hour from Geneva, on snow that cannot always be relied on.
132018
13Valmorel
Built for families and honest about it.
132017
14Kiroro Grand
Walked through on the day; the newer, plusher half of the same estate. · same estate as Kiroro Peak; not counted in our 73
day visit2025
15Québec Charlevoix
Cold, compact, and above the St Lawrence; the setting outdoes the vertical.
132022
16La Plagne 2100
A day visit only — we skied the area from elsewhere.
day visit
17Yabuli
China’s first real ski resort, and the emptiest pistes we have skied.

3Seychelles
Two stays and nine nights — the one we would book again first.
292024
4Cefalù
Sicily rebuilt; the old village replaced by the Collection’s Mediterranean flagship.
132019
5Club Med 2
The five-masted ship, classified Exclusive Collection, and unlike anything else in the fleet.
142019

Kani’s Manta space is Exclusive Collection too; it is in the beach list below, where we rank it first. Choosing between these for a couple? The Collection — the page written for a first-timer.
