Who we are

Expeditioner Travel is operated by Marc Vitria as a sole trader, and is an independent contractor and affiliate of Fora Travel, Inc., a Delaware corporation, at 228 Park Ave South, Suite 53272, New York, NY 10003-1502. This policy covers expeditionertravel.com. Our two tools have their own notices: CruiseLens and SkiDomain.

What we collect, and why

When you send an enquiry. The contact form asks for your first and last name, your email address, the service you are interested in, how you heard about us, and whatever you write in the message. We use it to answer you and to plan your travel if you become a client. Submissions are stored by our website host, Squarespace.

When you book a call. Calls are scheduled through Calendly, which collects your name, email address and chosen time, and holds it under its own privacy policy.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. We ask only for your email address and use it to send the monthly briefing. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. The list is held in Squarespace.

When you visit. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages are read and which routes bring people here. It sets cookies and processes your approximate location, device and browser, and the pages you view. Google’s default retention applies, so event-level data is kept for two months. We do not use analytics to identify you.

We do not buy personal data, and we do not sell or rent yours.

Bookings

We take no payment and store no card details. Bookings are made through Fora Travel, Inc., and client records are held on Fora’s systems. Once a booking is placed, the information needed to make it is handled by Fora and by the supplier concerned — the cruise line, hotel or operator — under their own policies. Fora’s privacy policies and terms are in its Legal Center.

Who else sees your information

Squarespace, which hosts the site and stores form submissions and the newsletter list. Google, as our analytics provider. Calendly, when you book a call. Fora Travel, Inc. and the relevant supplier, when you book. Nobody else, unless the law requires it.

Several of these providers are in the United States, so your information may be transferred outside Switzerland and the European Economic Area, relying on those providers’ standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a booking: 24 months from our last exchange. Client records: held on Fora for as long as Fora’s own retention and applicable tax rules require. Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe. Analytics: two months, the Google Analytics default.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to our using it, and you can unsubscribe at any time. Write to travel@expeditionertravel.com and we will respond within thirty days.

If you are in Switzerland you may complain to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner. In the EEA or the UK, to your national supervisory authority.

Cookies

The site uses cookies necessary for it to work, and Google Analytics cookies that tell us how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser; the site will still work.

Changes

We update this policy when what we do changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
